Belvedere is a hilltop village in the Alpes-Maritimes:
Its name, quoted from the eleventh century, is derived from Latin and means beautiful sight .
The village dominates the valley of Vésubie at the gates of the Mercantour National Park.
The village of Belvédère is crossed by the Gordoloasque which flows into the Vésubie below. The territory of the municipality extends to an altitude of more than 3000 meters.
